Human Design: Magnetic Monopole of Projectors
Human Design Shows Us How to Access Our Magnetism and Let Go of Conditioning
One of my favorite topics to discuss in Human Design is the magnetic monopole. This is a literal energetic polarity device that exists within our subtle body. When we’re living in right relationship to our design, our magnetic monopole appropriately draws in the people, places, and opportunities that best fit our chosen growth and evolution.
Very simply put, this magnetic charge begins to activate when we are living by our strategies and authorities. That is why there should be an incredible emphasis on engaging and practicing living one’s strategy and authority before learning all other elements of Human Design. If one does not practice engaging with these two things and instead tries to move through life using a more advanced understanding of their chart intellectually, they will turn themselves in circles. Life is not designed to be an intellectual process but rather a somatic one.
Bodies vs. Minds in Guiding Us
Our bodies have better access to the correct internal guidance systems than our minds, which are subject to disarray, confusion, and overwhelm. Esoterically speaking, one could even argue that it is not the mind within the body but the body within the mind. For the sake of this article, I will consider the mind synonymous with intellect, primarily a process engaged by the brain.
In Human Design, the brain and its analytical processing are essential for mastery and the application of mastery in systems while living out one’s design. However, it does not precede the body-centered wisdom contained within authority.
For example, if I am a Projector with a splenic authority working a seasonal contract and I begin to worry about not having a source of income after the contract ends, I could approach the situation in one of two ways.
Aligned Approach: My strategy would be to meditate on what I want to provide services for, discuss my ideas with others, and regulate any anxieties that arise. This is called waiting for the invitation and recognition. Doing this charges a Projector’s magnetic monopole to draw the correct people, places, and opportunities into their field. When these invitations arise, a splenic authority would sense in the moment if the opportunity is right or not, with a feeling of “this is safe” or “this is not safe.”
Misaligned Approach: Alternatively, I could scour the internet, applying for jobs, agonizing over listings, or trying to build a business overnight. This would inevitably lead to bitterness, as this behavior does not align a Projector with the correct opportunities. Additionally, the magnetic monopole would remain dormant during this time, as the body is intelligent enough not to draw opportunities to a person saturated in their "not-self" theme (bitterness for Projectors).
The Conditioning of Projectors
The conditioning a Projector must overcome to activate their magnetic monopole is the belief that they "ought" to be go-getters—initiating and making things happen. Instead, they thrive by taking care of themselves, resting, and allowing the right situations to come to them.
As a minority group, Projectors are particularly susceptible to the conditioning of sacral types (Generators and Manifesting Generators), who are designed to sustain energy and "make things happen." Unlike sacral types, Projectors do not have a defined sacral center and thus lack access to reliable, sustainable energy. This is why their strategy is to wait for invitations—so they can conserve their energy for the correct opportunities.
A Projector wasting energy by pushing, forcing, or trying to make things happen will have no energy left when the right opportunity arises. They must be discerning and use their inner authority when given an invitation because not all invitations are correct for them. This is why listening to one’s unique inner authority is paramount.
The Illogical Magic of the Magnetic Monopole
When Projectors align with their strategy and heed their inner authority, they begin to feel alive, as if success is finding them effortlessly. The illogical nature of how the magnetic monopole draws in opportunities is nearly mind-bending. While the logical mind is essential for operating within mastery, especially for Projectors, the magnetic monopole operates beyond linear reasoning.
The magnetic monopole is a quantum compass—a sensing device that perceives beyond what the analytical mind can detect. This is why it’s crucial to prioritize inner authority—a body-centered wisdom—over the analytical mind when navigating life’s decisions.
Breaking Free from Conditioning
A significant part of human conditioning at this moment in history is breaking free from the idea that the body is an untrustworthy compass. Outsourcing our sense of direction to external authorities has been a long-standing paradigm that is now crumbling in the Age of Aquarius.
Projectors, in particular, are anchoring divine feminine energy, balancing receptivity, patience, and magnetism with the masculine drive for pioneering and conquering. This shift is revolutionary, not only for Projectors but for all types operating within their strategies and authorities.
The Magic
The results of aligning with one’s strategy and authority are self-evident. Life becomes more magical, synchronistic, and aligned, even amid challenges. By trusting the process and allowing the magnetic monopole to do the heavy lifting, we open ourselves to a hero’s journey—one where challenges become opportunities for growth, and life feels more meaningful and rewarding.
